On September 1, 2026, Brown, Paindiris & Scott, LLP (BPS Lawyers) announced the addition of Attorney Brian Lamaj to its commercial and real estate law departments in Glastonbury, Connecticut. Lamaj's expertise will bolster the firm’s capabilities in handling both transactional and litigation matters.

Lamaj brings a wealth of experience from his previous role, where he represented municipal entities and property owners in land use and municipal law matters. His background includes handling appeals of planning and zoning commission and zoning board of appeals decisions, as well as zoning enforcement actions. This experience is now integral to his transactional work, as issues such as nonconforming use, variances, and pending applications often significantly impact a property's marketability.

"Brian's background in land use and municipal law provides a unique perspective that is highly beneficial in real estate and commercial transactions," said Nicholas Paindiris, a partner at BPS Lawyers. "He anticipates zoning and municipal issues before they become critical, which is invaluable for our clients."

Lamaj's academic achievements include cum laude graduation from Quinnipiac University School of Law, where he was recognized for Excellence in Clinical Education. During his law school years, he served as a legal intern at the State of Connecticut Office of the Attorney General, representing the Connecticut Department of Labor in unemployment compensation appeals and bringing civil penalty actions against employers for wage violations.

The attorney is also actively involved in the legal community, serving as the Membership Director of the Connecticut Bar Association Young Lawyers Section and a member of the Hartford County Bar Association. He holds a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Connecticut.

The firm’s latest hire reflects its commitment to expanding its legal services across Connecticut and maintaining a full-service approach to commercial and real estate matters. Founded in 1977, BPS Lawyers operates with a team of 23 attorneys and offers a wide range of legal services including personal injury, family law, business and corporate law, probate and estate planning, criminal defense, and more.

With nearly five decades of experience, BPS Lawyers has consistently helped individuals, families, and small businesses in Connecticut navigate legal challenges with clarity and care. Attorney Brian Lamaj’s addition to the team is seen as a strategic move to further enhance the firm’s capabilities and client service offerings.
